Etain, one of the most celebrated figures in Irish mythology, was renowned for her extraordinary beauty, grace, and spirit.

Long ago, Midir, one of the mighty beings of Irish legend, fell deeply in love with the beautiful Etain. Their happiness stirred the jealousy of Midir's first wife, Fuamnach, who cursed Etain and transformed her into a butterfly.

For years she was carried by the wind across Ireland, through storms, forests and valleys, never able to rest. Though everything around her changed, Etain endured, bringing beauty wherever she drifted.

At last, exhausted, Etain came to rest in a cup of wine. When the Queen of Ulster unknowingly drank from it, she fell pregnant, and Etain was reborn as a human child, with no memory of the life she had once lived.

As she grew, her remarkable beauty became known throughout the land, and she was married to a great king. Yet destiny had not forgotten her.

Years later, Midir found Etain once again. Though time, magic and even another lifetime had come between them, their bond remained. After many trials, they were reunited, proving that true beauty and love cannot be destroyed, only transformed.
